Poll: Election loss will drive some liberals & conservatives to drink
PLYMOUTH, MN - Twenty-six percent of conservatives say that if Barack Obama becomes our next president, it will drive them to drink more. Twenty percent of liberals say they’ll do the same if John McCain wins.
That’s according to a new survey conducted for Drinkin' Mate by SurveyUSA, an independent national market research firm used by many of the top media companies in the country. They questioned 1200 US adults age 21 and over about drinking and politics. Here are the highlights:

74% of Black, 56% of Hispanic and 39% of White respondents say Obama 49% of White, 18% of Black, and 16% of Hispanic respondents say McCain
51% of all respondents age 21 to 34 choose Obama
55% of all respondents over age 65 choose McCain
77% of Republican respondents say McCain
83% of Democrat respondents say Obama
Independent respondents were split equally with 43% favoring a drink with McCain and 43% with Obama
In general, do you think Republicans drink more alcohol than Democrats?Democrats drink more alcohol than Republicans? Or is there no difference?
Equally split with 31% of each party saying the other party drinks more
